Dr. Dawn Jackson and Ms. Amanda Lewis Named to KHIMA

I am extremely pleased to share the following informational items concerning Dr. Dawn Jackson and Ms. Amanda Lewis from the annual meeting of the Kentucky Health Information Management Association (KHIMA).
Newly elected officers for 2012-2013 will be Dr. Dawn Jackson, President-elect, and Ms. Amanda Lewis, Secretary. This is another example of our faculty being committed to serving our profession in leadership roles. Dr. Jackson and Ms. Lewis will be integrally involved in shaping the future direction of KHIMA and advancing the discipline.

In addition, Dr. Dawn Jackson was the 2012 recipient of the KHIMA Distinguished Member Award. The award is presented annually to an HIM professional contributing to the advancement of the profession and to the betterment of current and future HIM professionals.

The Kentucky Health Information Management Association (KHIMA) is a non profit healthcare professional organization representing thousands of credentialed professionals within Kentucky. KHIMA is composed of members committed to protecting patient confidentiality, maintaining valid and accurate health data that drives the healthcare industry and is committed to advancing the health information management profession in an electronic and global environment through leadership in education and lifelong learning.
KHIMA is an affiliate of American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Component Association.
